Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte was full of praise for midfielder Cesc Fabregas after the Spaniard celebrated his 300th Premier League appearance with a goal on Saturday.
Fabregas 29, became the first Spain international to reach the landmark appearance and he celebrated in style by opening the scoring in Chelsea’s 3-1 win at home to Swansea City.
It was Fabregas’ sixth Premier League start this season, and after his effort was annulled by Fernando Llorente, further strikes from compatriots Pedro and Diego Costa ensured the Blues won to open a massive 11-point lead atop the table.
When quizzed by the media about Fabregas’ performance at Stamford Bridge, Conte says he couldn’t be happier with the options available at the club, Goal writes.
“Cesc played a really good game but it’s important for me to have these solutions and also to analyse each game and understand when we need to have a player with more quality,” the former Italy manager said.
“For me, I consider Nemanja [Matic], [N’Golo] Kante and Fabregas all top players.
“I’m very pleased to see him in this form, despite the fact he didn’t start the last league game.
“This is the right way to continue. I’m pleased to have these type of players, to have that is fantastic as a coach.”
