Man Killed at Orly Airport in France After Grabbing Soldier’s Gun

Early Saturday, a yet unnamed man grabbed a soldier’s gun at the Orly airport in France, a situation that has led to his death.

The incident adds to a rising number of such attacks at airports and other locations in France, sometimes linked to terrorist cells.

Parts of the Orly airport were immediately evacuated on Saturday just as passengers who arrived on some planes were stopped from disembarking.

Witnesses at the airport told newsmen that they heard gun shots and security operatives could be seen moving into various ends of the airport.

Bomb disposal experts are also said to be involved in the ongoing security operation at the airport.

The Orly airport is the second largest airport in Paris, the French capital.

The airport incident comes barely two days after a parcel bomb at the IMF office in Paris went off and left one person injured.

In February, a man wielding knives attacked soldiers at Paris’s Louvre museum. He was similarly shot and killed.

French police authorities have in the meantime, advised people to stay away from the security cordon put in place at the Orly airport, reports BBC.
