These are photos of a mutant piglet born in a village in China with a trunk-like nose. The piglet was one of 20 babies born on March 1 in Bengbu, China’s Anhui province. It was born hairless with one eye and a trunk-like nose with a deformed snout. The other piglets were said to be normal and healthy.
Mr Lin, the pig farmer told Pear in an interview that the piglet died just two hours after it was born.
It is unclear what has caused the deformity of the piglet.
Guo Baoyong, zoo president from Bengbu Zhanggongshan Park, said the piglet’s genes could have mutated while the sow was mating.
The piglet has been sent to a laboratory for testing.
