A popular Muslim cleric has warned adherents of the religion to stop making friends with non-muslims as they are bound to go to hell fire because of it.
Sheikh Mohamad Doar
A fundamentalist sheikh told teenage girls at a youth night that they would go to hell if they made friends with non-Muslims, Metro UK reports.
The Islamic cleric identified as Sheikh Mohamad Doar told a group of young girls in Sydney that they needed to stop being friends with non-believers during a lecture about Islam.
He made the speech while speaking at Punchbowl on Saturday night, he said: ‘The reality is, my sisters, any friendship that is not built on the fear of Allah is only going to lead to hell fire so you need to be cautious.
‘With your actions, you distance yourself from the corrupted people.’
Sheikh Doar also told the girls that women would be cursed by Allah if they plucked their eyebrows, waxed their body or shaved.
He said: ‘You are not allowed the remove the hair of the eyebrow, it’s a major sin.
‘The lady who plucks her eyebrows and the one who gets them plucked, they’re both cursed by Allah.
He had been discussing the actions of the Prophet Mohammad during a Q&A session organised by Muslim charity Sisters United. He also touched on hijabs and said girls should wear them loose and as ‘plain as possible’, adding: ‘It cannot be an imitation of the disbeliever’s dress code.
‘It cannot be attracting to the eye. It cannot resemble the dress of men. It can’t be a showing-off cloth.’
The sheikh’s advice is reportedly rejected by secular Muslims who also do not agree with sharia law.
